"learn to play the guitar - you'll have a friend for life"

rON tRUEHERZ

Ron began playing the guitar at age 7. George Harrison of the Beatles put the hook in him, and he began taking lessons that same year. By age 13, Ron was practicing several hours a day, and played in rock and roll bands throughout high school.
Ron went on to study guitar and composition at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. It was a great time - he was taught by Pat Metheny’s brother in one course, played guitar in a big band with 16 horns for another, and played in various rock and roll bands as lead guitarist around the Boston area. One of his bands toured with the Ramones, and another was the opener for Johnny Winter.
After Berklee, he taught students in Cambridge, Massachusetts in community school classrooms, and privately. After a long business career, he began teaching privately in2010, as well as playing in various
venues for events, and with several live bands in clubs. He has produced a CD, “My Passion”, available on Apple Music, and other CDs with other artists.

Ron’s Teaching Approach

Ron teaches online and in person, privately and in groups, and is always eager to convey his passion and enthusiasm to his students of all ages. He is well versed in rock and roll, fusion,
jazz, pop, and acoustic music. His teaching approach is influenced by his studies at Berklee College of Music, as well as other influences. His lesson plans are based upon each student’s needs and goals, their desires, abilities, interests and
experience. He teaches ages 8 to 80, from beginner to advanced levels, in electric and acoustic guitar. His lesson plans emphasize technique and improvisation, and can incorporate music theory, ear training and songwriting.

Ron’s Performance Offerings

Ron enjoys performing in smaller settings – parties, wedding receptions, restaurants and clubs. He uses high fidelity sound equipment and computerized backing tracks to offer a full, complete sound that complements the event and setting.
Whether you’re looking for a rocker or an ensemble jazz sound, he works with hosts to nail the right playlist, ‘sound’ and volume levels for their needs and tastes.
